KDS: Your Riding and Confidence has really progressed over the last two 

years ,What has contributed to that?

MZ:Love for the Ocean Mainly ,Ryan Rhodes and all my friends just stoking me out and pushing me

further.

KDS:If you weren't a BodyBoarder,what would you be doing?

MK: Hurting my self on a SkateBoard....Probably!

KDS:Where to you see yourself in the future?

MZ: Travling much as possible, getting in the Water every Swell, Pushing and Stoking the Groms,

Hopefully living on the OBX.

KDS:You used to Drive a Filthy Eletric Blue Chevy Comaro, What happened to 

that Beast?What year was that? I heard Peps used to Call you "Joe Dirt" , You

have any comment of that?

MZ: Its an 85 and it's getting a rebuilt face lift of 500 Horse Power at My Step Dads, Yeah, they

called me Joe Dirt and Kid Rock but, i didn't mind, "life's a Garden ,Dig it!!!"

KDS:You gotta a real Love For life and alwasys seem to be stoked,What

Keeps "Joe Dirt" Smiling On?

MZ: All the Friends and Family continuos support and the ones who took care of me growing 

up bodyboarding, including Uncle RR.

MZ: I just love being in the water no matter if it's waist high or 8ft. All the young BBers keep it

up cause it's the best thing you will do in your life, BBing is a real drug .Keep looking behind

The Joyce Brothers

  Its the JJ Family ...Mom, Judy Joyce .......Dad,Jack Joyce....1st son, James Joyce

.......2nd son John Joyce and I heard they're good friend's with JJ Evans as well.

Can I say support, this family is more then supportive of each other. Both son, when

asked, credited their family members when i asked who influenced and supported you.

Both brothers, credit each other for pushing each other in the water. James 20 is toughing

it out in Wilmington ,NC , studying at Cape Fear  and aims to get a degree in Marine Sciences.

John is 14 and one cool lil guy to watch and watch them both grow up is what we did.John has 

been a sponsored bodyboarder since he was 10 when him and his brother were picked up

by Custom X Bodyboards.They were noticed for their skill level and mellow disposition .

John and James both shred the gnar on the Bodyboard and on the skim .Both sponsored

Viper Fins and both are sponsored by Skim City, SlotStick. Lil John has gather support 

As well Skiming from Xtrak and Everglide and recently picked up for his boogie skills by

158 Surf N Skate.Both have been elected as ESA AllStar, James a few years back took two

trips to AUS with the allstar team and lil brother is following right behind him.Both plan

to take Skimming and BBing as far as they can.Both can be seen fishing right next to their 

father when not riding.Both log in heaps of hours at the beach all spring ,summer, and fall.

Both are very decorated competitors when it comes to skimming and Bodyboarding. Both

will carry the flag for the ones who came before them,Jason Woodall, Ryan Rhodes,Eric Drexler

Evan Foster,Bob Hovey, And even Space Cadet Chris Bean will all sit back and watch proudly

watch as they take it to the next level and inspire new up and comers such as themselves, for

there couldn't be better candidates then them.Proper Attitude and lack of ego has made them

superior family members , fishermen, riders, and ultimately WATERMEN.If you aim to have 

Kill Devil Skills.......you need to pay attention to these two!!!

Mikey Weeks is one filthy Bastard from Kill Devill Hills,NC!!!!

this guy is a  staple in the diet of local talent.If there were

ever statues made for local ability and Super Hero Status ,Mikey

Weeks Would surely Have one and it would be unbreakable like

him. This guy may be able to set records when it comes to how 

many serious injuries one can endure and still rip with full function.

Mikey has grotesque medical bills, Hell you could probably call him

the Million Dollar Man. I've really have never met anyone who has sustained

the amount of pain and healing and still gets back out there and pushes it

just as hard as he did before injury. To be honest, Others are probably more

concerned about his next injury then he is, He doesn't let those kind of thoughts

into his head and that is what confidence is all about, Not anticipating the

possible negative outcome.  Socially, Mikey is celebrated , For he always 

brings the stoke and kid out in everyone. Mikey could care less if you think

he is silly , he's here to enjoy life and live it to it's fullest daily. His skills are

not limited to wheels though , he is also recognized as one of the best skimboarders here locally as well as avid waterman on

the longboard or shortboard.His good friends know he ain't scared to bust out the BoogieBoard or shred the bodysurf  . If  the

art of having fun was a martial art ,Mikey would Be a Shaolin Warrior........................
